First, a numbing cream is applied to the skin in order to make the procedure more comfortable. We target the follicle of hair you want to get rid of and direct a short beam of laser at the root. Once you and your medical specialist agree on a plan, what areas you’d like treated, a local anesthetic cream is applied prior to injecting to numb those areas and minimizes discomfort; then, sterile injections with a soft tissue filler is injected into the skin to help fill in facial wrinkles. You should be able to go right back to your regular activities; the treated area of skin will be red and sensitive for a few hours. Your skin will continue to be sensitive for a couple of days after the procedure. You may need to avoid using hot water on it until your skin heals, also, avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.

Treated areas take about 7 to 14 days to heal after a medium chemical peel, but redness might last for months. After a deep chemical peel, you'll experience severe redness and swelling. The new skin is also temporarily more sensitive to the sun, you will need to protect your skin from the sun to prevent changes in skin color. The skin is vulnerable after peels and resurfacing, and application of makeup prematurely will delay healing and risk causing infection, pigmentation changes, or scarring.

Some patients may experience bruising or swelling after the treatment. There is immediate whitening of the treated area, which usually lasts for several minutes.
